ALITAPTAP ARTISTS COMMUNITY
Our Story
Alitaptap Artists Community is a collective of artists residing in the lush barangay of Halang, in the municipality of Amadeo, Cavite. Alitaptap, a pioneering artists community in the Philippines, was established under the leadership of Bokeng Ancanan, with significant contributions from Adrian Jay Manuel (who suggested the name Alitaptap due to the abundance of fireflies in the area, Winston Hernandez, Bobby "Wuds" Balingit, Nobert Frianeza, Crisanta Tamayo-Ancanan, joined by Manny Garibay, Jigger Cruz, and Mary Ann J. Salvador. Situated on a 12- hectare farmland, the community houses various art studios, including Talong Malapad, a river known to most locals in the barangay.
With several autonomous studios operating independently, the Alitaptap Artists Community is anchored by artists dedicated to creating remarkable works of art in any form that reflect the group's shared goals and values.
